Invest in Yourself
People often ask me how they should be investing their money. The best investment I have ever made is when I have invested in myself.
I am in a state of constant learning. Many different topics interest me and the internet is a fabulous source of information. There is a chance to learn in every experience. Open yourself to the possibilities.
Check the local college for courses that relate to your employment.
- Search online for free courses.
- Ask your employer if there are any courses or certificates that they would recommend.
- Read a book.
Explore other interests. Try a workshop or class that isn’t related to your job.
- Learn a language.
- Take a painting class.
- Learn how to cook.
- Check your local recreation centre for courses that interest you.
Take a time out, and go outside.
- Time spent outside can recharge you. (leave your phone turned off)
- Go for regular walks
- Get enough sleep
- Sit quietly and Listen
Investing in yourself will pay off as you will feel more fulfilled. You will also be more adaptable to changes in the workplace and in the world. Learning new things makes you are more interesting person as well.
